Intimacy direction helps directors and actors to tell stories authentically and safely.

I work with the text and the director’s vision to bring the authenticity of the story to life.

I utilize a special curriculum to cultivate racial and sexual justice throughout the artistic process.

My job as an intimacy director (theatre) and coordinator (film) is to choreograph stories of simulated intimacy and to protect the racial and sexual identities of all involved while doing so.

Intimacy in storytelling can include incidents of death or mourning, simulated sex, kissing, performance nudity, and other sexual, physical, and emotionally intensive acts of an intimate nature. Intimacy direction was created by Tonia Sina and Alicia Rodis.

I am a certified Intimacy Director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. I also hold a special certification in Intimacy Pedagogy & Choreography. Like IDC, I utilize The Pillars as a standard for simulated intimacy and abide by their code of ethics.
